Notes for Pierre-Jean Landry

Pierre Jean Landry was a son of Pierre Landry and Anne Clerge. He was born in France in 1761 or 1762, according to the militia census of 1813. He is listed with his parents at La Rochelle in 1762, but did not appear with them in a listing of the year before. He accompanied his parents to St. Pierre and Miquelon in 1764, and then to Chezzetcook in 1767. A petition of 1807 shows that Pierre-Jean and his brothers Benoni, Thomas, Jean settled at River Bourgeois about 1789. Pierre Jean was already married by that time, but I have no record to show who his wife was.
